Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas For VegansFinding gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list isn’t an easy task, and last minute shoppers find it even more difficult when all the stores are out of the one thing they wanted. However, if you think someone on your list would like vegan gifts, you might want to show your support for their decision by picking out something for them that relates to their new or long-standing lifestyle. For those moments, here are some gifts for vegans that may just make you their favorite person for the coming year.

Vegan Cookbooks: Does the vegan in your life like to cook or do they lack skills in the kitchen, but want to improve? Then picking out a beautifully designed or acclaimed cookbook might just be the way into their heart. Why not wrap up one of these options:

  • Veganomicon by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero is the most well-known and well-loved vegan cookbooks out there. You can’t go wrong with it
  • The Happy Herbivore by Lindsay S. Nixon has beautiful photos and tasty, low-fat recipes that may tempt the animal rights activist as much as those who become vegan for health reasons only
  • Blissful Bites: Vegan Meals that Nourish Mind, Body, and Planet by Christy Morgan offers not only beautiful color photos, but also has color-coordinated titles for a clear cut way to eat seasonally, which is sure to delight vegans who are in it for animals and the environment

Vegan Relaxation: Does the vegan in your life someone who is so busy with work, school, and/or a range of activities that they never seem to take some time for themselves? Give them the gift of relaxation this year with one of these ideas:

  • Vegan bath products or massage oils will help the vegan in your life take some down time. Look out for products, which are labeled vegan and aren’t tested on animals to make the vegan in your life smile
  • Books like, Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer or Becoming Vegan by Brenda Davis, might help them stay happy, healthy vegans
  • Vegan DVDs or Bluerays are a great way for a vegan to pass the time. Forks Over Knifes might be of interest

Vegan Treats: If you aren’t a vegan yourself, you may not realize how tough it is to find tasty vegan desserts unless you live in a big city. During the holiday season, vegans might want to indulge their sweet tooth or craving for savory snacks a little, so wouldn’t that be the best gift ever?

  • Make some sweet or savory snacks for your family or friends to enjoy. If you don’t have a vegan cookbook, don’t worry — you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Do a search in Google for their fave snack before they went vegan and you’ll likely find a veganized version

  • If you live in NYC, LA, or Orlando, you can stop by Babycakes to pick up some vegan cupcakes, donuts, cookies, or sweet bread, which are all made with heart healthy coconut oil and sometimes are free of sugar and gluten
  • Don’t live in one of these major centers? Place an order with Babycakes NYC, and they’ll deliver them to your door or pick up one of their two cookbooks, so the recipient can make their own
  • Or you can always pick up a pack of retail locator to find out where you can pick some up
Do any of these ideas spark your imagination and get you excited about finishing up your holiday shopping this year? Have any other ideas worth sharing with us? We’d love to hear from you.
