Ten Tips To Make Your Allergic or Vegan Valentine Swoon! Many of the Valentine’s Day chocolate that’s been lining mainstream store shelves for weeks has milk, wheat flour, or other ingredients that don’t work for a vegan valentine or one with dietary restrictions caused by allergies, intolerances, or autoimmune disorders, like celiac disease. Buying any of these products for your significant other might produce a polite thank you, but little else. Similarly, if you take them out to a restaurant or prepare them a special dinner that doesn’t cater to their dietary needs, then you will have, at best, a disgruntled mate or, at worst, a trip to the hospital in your future. Not exactly the romantic evening you had in mind. Check out our top ten valentine suggestions to make sure your plans will illicit the appropriate swoonworthy conclusion:

  1. Prepare a fabulous meal that he/she will love, taking their dietary needs into consideration.
  2. Take her/him to a restaurant in your area that caters to vegan or allergic consumers.
  3. Give him/her a relaxing massage using vegan or allergen free products.
  4. Settle in for a romantic movie for two.
  5. Buy a “blank inside” card and detail all the reasons why you love her/him.
  6. Read through cookbook or nonfiction book they’ve been raving about or buy it for him/her.
  7. Go out of your way to make or get an allergen free or vegan dessert for the special night.
  8. Give her/him a book of romantic DIY coupons that she/he can use all year long.
  9. Candles, lots of candles.
  10. Recreate one of our favorite Soyummi Pudding recipes for a light and satisfying dessert that you can both enjoy.
